Bubble Wrap

One of the most common packing materials received, especially when ordering fragile materials like hobby paints, will be bubble wrap. Typically this is just discarded as there is no real perceived use to saving it unless you need to carefully pack up something of your own for transport.

Storing Parts During Build

One way I’ve found to upcycle the would be trash, is to use it during the building process as a way to save space. If you are like me and lack the ability to have all parts to be painted clipped up at all times, you may find yourself apprehensive to putting them back into a box or on a tabletop without any guarantee of protection. This is where bubble wrap comes in.

As I am working through segments, whether it be adding paint layers or applying decals, I like to use a bin to allow me to lay out parts in a layer sandwiched between bubble wrap. This guarantees that things are safe in terms of any damage to parts, but also making sure everything is grouped together for when you come back to it.
